In the next block of the preview course, learn how to manage massive hemorrhage in high-risk environments: tourniquets

This 5-minute excerpt includes excerpts from the Crisis Medicine Tactical Casualty Care Massive Hemorrhage lecture related to tourniquets and from the 42-minute video covering tourniquet skills in the online course. (Click photo for video)

The full TC2 105-minute hemorrhage control lecture discusses bandaging, tourniquets, wound packing with cotton gauze and hemostatic agents, including where the modern fear of tourniquets comes from, as well as modern testing techniques establishing efficacy. This is complemented by a 42-minute skills station demonstrating the application of the three major DOD tourniquets self-applied and applied to a casualty to both arms and legs. Wound packing and hemostatic agents are also covered.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Highly Recommend

I studied the Complete Tactical Casualty Care course online and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Dr. Shertz is an incredible presenter and clearly has a wealth of knowledge to share. I was kept interested throughout the entire course and honestly didn't want it to end. I would love to have completed the in-person course but living in Australia makes that difficult, hence why I completed the online course. I can assure you that the online course was an incredible way to learn, and will not disappoint. I highly recommend this course and thank Dr. Shertz for sharing his expertise and making it available online.

MIST Report: A simple way to convey information

For all levels of medical providers, a very simple verbal hand-off report format is the MIST report used by the military. Although it may not convey all the detailed information regarding allergies and medications sometimes included in a more traditional EMS report, it gets to the salient details rapidly. See more in articles.
