Crisis Medicine Webinar Beta-Classes
Saturday, Sep 30, 2023 09:30 AM PDT (GMT -7)
We will be holding online, live Zoom beta classes in September with the opportunity for question and answers with Dr. Mike Shertz.
As you’d expect from any Crisis Medicine class, the courses will be based on the best available medical literature, married with Dr. Shertz’s pragmatic and tactical assessments.
Although dedicated medical equipment is always expected to perform better in an emergency, if you have enough casualties or limitations on gear, you will need to improvise. To quote SGM Mike Hetzler, retired 18D, “We improvise because we have to, not just because we can.”
While most improvisational techniques are anecdotal, a surprising amount of published medical literature on improvised techniques shows proof of concept / efficacy. No other course has gathered all of this information in one place.
In standard Crisis Medicine fashion, we look at the medical literature supporting what else you can successfully use when you are either without or run out of standard equipment. How can you increase the survivability of your casualty using items in your environment that you can battlefield recover?
This course assumes you have a solid foundation in TECC/TCCC, so basics will not be covered.
Registration made through Zoom via PayPal/credit card with PayPal. Course will run approximately 90 minutes, with an additional 30 minutes for questions. $150 per student.
